Bright Crop

Amongst the very tall Rye

Tom Warren has sent in this cracking photo.

The crop he is standing in is rye, a variety of grass which is looks like a taller version of wheat. The grains are processed into flour for breads, snacks and even Vodka.

 Tom said it was almost 6ft (roughly 180cm) tall in some places.

Tom is a Stemnet ambassador for BrightCrop. STEMnet is a UK govt initiative to facilitate people taking time out of work to talk to children in schools about their occupation and career options.

Bright Crop is an initiative run alongside STEMnet encouraging farmers to get involved in visiting schools and teaching children about careers in agriculture.
